Born in London, Seif was surrounded by music as a child. He grew up listening to Michael Jackson and other eighties one-hit wonders. He then moved to Paris, where he spent three years learning the language and discovering a whole new musical culture. Moving to the United States, Seif spent his high school years in Westchester County, NY, where he began writing songs and singing with various groups.
After graduation from high school, Seif spent some time in the Albany music scene as the enigmatic frontman of momentary local legends "Import." After the bands guitar-slamming, infamous implosion on stage (which some still blame for the Ben Jelen album never taking off), Seif returned to Westchester and spent two years in front of a beat down Mac and GarageBand crafting the songs that were to become his debut album.
Even though his formal training is in classical piano and theory, Seif has taught himself many other instruments and has worked with several producers, artists, and songwriters. All of these experiences have given way to a wide variety of influences that has shaped Seif’s musical style.
Seif's debut album "Wonderland" will be released in November 2008 on Double Deal Brand Records, featuring the tracks "Through The Night," "When I'm Not Around," "Found" and the first single "Nothing's Right, Nothing's Wrong," which features Seif's label-mate Will Makar on background vocals.
The album will be available on itunes and all other online digital music stores. Until then, enjoy the single and more songs from "Wonderland" right here on MySpace! Stealing Seif's music seriously impacts his beer money, so be cool, huh?
